Have you ever taken a Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight? If you have, you would know that the flight stewardess wear some unique and colourful sarong kabaya. This design has become the staple of Singapore Airlines and part of the Singapore Girl Identity. Designed by Parisian couturier Pierre Balmain in 1968, the design is now for years an iconic part of Singapore's image. This dress and design has become a recognised image around the world. Drawing inspiration from this concept, I want to create something similar for my care-packages. I want designs that helps differentiate between them and help localise the kits. Not only does this make the kits unique and individual but also make them significant to my theme of home. My aim is also that the pattern, colours and design alone would help ease homesickness as this pattern or colour palette would trigger memories and elements of home in the consumer's mind.
