Batik true. I redesigned the entire Batik with an orchid flower, more dots to signify the patterns, add shading through dots and to better reflect the batik vibe. The previous design had hibiscus flowers that were too big, hence for this Batik true pattern, I went with the national flower, orchid, and made them smaller and gave them a series of colours to reflect the multiculturalism of Singapore. However, this is just the base design with 1 layer of orchids. The plan is to add vines, more dots and more background patterns to further give it a batik feel. From there, the aim was to create a series of batik designs with various colour palettes to see which one reflects Singapore the most and best reminds someone of home in Singapore. The test will be presented to and data will only be collected from Singaporean Students studying abroad. The general survey will be done on Insta, followed by Snapchat and personally sent to other Singaporean students living abroad.

Amazing work showcasing the true spirit of Singapore's traditional roots and iconic designs. Love the fact that the print has been experimented on with different colours backgrounds which also represent the colours worn by SIA stewerdess.
